U7, U6 & U5 Hockey for 4, 5, & 6 year olds

Online registration for the 2023-2024 Hockey Season is now open. Requirements for registration are based on your child’s program level – U5, U6, or U7.  Additionally, new players will require documents to prove identity and residence.

In general, the following eight items are required to complete registration:

  • Complete and submit the online registration form. But first you must create a family account at Spordle My Account in the parent’s name.  Once that is done then click (HERE)to register.  Full registration instructions are on the Play NEZ Hockey page.
  • Pay the appropriate registration fee.
  • Provide the registrar with a copy or photo of your child’s Birth Certificate and Alberta Health Care Card (one-time requirement only)
  • Provide the registrar with a completed “Parent Declaration” form (one-time requirement only)
  • Provide the registrar with proof of residence documentation (Copy of utility bill, bank statement, etc. – MUST contain your full name Parent/Guardian, your residential address, and the date)
  • Complete the required parent course called Respect-In-Sport. The Respect In Sport Program is NOT linked to the Hockey Canada Registry (Database).  You must complete the course AND link your child to your Respect-In-Sport Account.  Click (HERE) to register for this parent course.
  • Sign up for a volunteer commitment as needed. This season there will a requirement of 1 bingo to be worked for every player in the U7 (Senior TimBits) program.
  • Present a 2023-2024 Community League Membership. Purchase your membership at your local Community League or  click (EFCL Membership)
  • ALL players will require a complete set of full equipment to go on the ice for all ice sessions. Click here for a list of required equipment

 

To complete your registration you may attend an in-person registration at the NEZ Sports Council office at 12855 – 52 St. on:

  • Thursday, September 7, 2023   5:30 to 7:00 pm

 

You can bring in the requirement documents and make payment if you did not do so online.  YOU CAN EMAIL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO nezsports@gmail.com  if you paid online.

 

U5 – Discovery Hockey Program (4 years old)

  • Age: 4 years old as of December 31 of the current play year.
  • Registration fee is $195.00
  • Weekly Commitment: One hour on-ice practice (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Season Length: September to March
  • Games Sessions: Two Jamborees
  • Total Ice Sessions: 20 practices
  • This is a Parent Volunteer based program. On-ice instructors are parents of the children in the program.  If you want to be an instructor please email nezsports@gmail.com
  • Each session will require a lead instructor (parent) and multiple other parents to be successful.
  • This program is meant to be FUN!

U6 – Junior TimBits Hockey Program (5 years old)

  • Age: 5 years old as of December 31 of the current play year.
  • Registration fee is $195.00
  • Weekly Commitment: One hour on-ice practice (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Season Length: September to March
  • Games Sessions: Two Jamborees
  • Total Ice Sessions: 20 practices and 2-3 games
  • This is a Parent Volunteer based program. On-ice instructors are parents of the children in the program.  If you want to be an instructor please email nezsports@gmail.com
  • Each session will require a lead instructor (parent) and multiple other parents to be successful.
  • This program is meant to be FUN!

U7 – Senior TimBits Hockey Program (6 years old)

  • Age: 6 years old as of December 31 of the current play year.
  • Registration fee is $280.00
  • Weekly Commitment: Two one-hour on-ice sessions
  • Season Length: September to March
  • Games Sessions: 20 games, two Jamborees
  • Total Ice Sessions: 40-43 sessions. Practice (1-hour) on Saturdays and play a game (1-hour) on Sundays.
  • This is a Parent Volunteer based program. On-ice instructors are parents of the children in the program.  If you want to be an instructor please email nezsports@gmail.com
  • Senior TimBits players will be placed on teams after the first three “pre-season” skate times. The grouping size will be approx. 10 per group and be balanced so low, medium and high levels of skills are represented in each team. Jerseys will be assigned to groups after the pre-season ice times have passed.
  • Each session will require a lead instructor (parent) and multiple other parents to be successful.
  • This program is meant to be FUN!
