Creed to minor Hockey Week
I am a parent. I enjoy the opportunity to have my child participate in the world’s greatest sport. I will teach and encourage my child to play their best game, while acting as a role model for good sportsmanship. I will remember that the outcome of the gane is secondary to the experience and knowledge that my child will gain from minor hockey. Minor hockey is part of our Canadian Heritage and we should celebrate what minor hockey provides us. We encourage all participants to consider their role.
I am a referee. I am privileged to oversee that all teams play hard and with respect for one another. I work hard to study the game rules and will use my best judgement to ensure that the game is played with fairness and the utmost safety. I contribute and volunteer my time to make this one of the best hockey tournaments in the world.
I am a coach. I am the player’s teacher. I encourage teamwork and sportsmanship. I volunteer my time because I fell it is important to support my community and minor hockey. I also respect every player as an integral part of our team.
I am a player. I play because I enjoy the game of hockey and being a part of a team. I will play to the best of my ability. If I make a mistake, I will learn from my experience. When I grow up, I will remember the special memories, most importantly the people around me, that minor hockey provides.
